Our Side Release Collars need regular inspection. Check for dirt and hair trapped in the buckle and for degradation due to exposure to river or sea water. Damaged buckles may fail to close properly or come undone, it is important to make sure both wings are secured in position. Excessive ear scratching can damage these buckles and/or damage the stitching. To keep your collar clean, wash as required with mild detergent and allow collar to air dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Our Hound Collars are fitted with roller/pin buckles. Check stitching regularly. To keep your collar clean, wash as required with mild detergent and allow collar to air dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Our Half Check Collars are fitted with half check chains. The chain may discolour your dog's hair if it is not wiped clean and dry. To keep your collar clean, wash as required with mild detergent and allow collar to air dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. For safety's sake - do not leave your dog unattended in a half check collar as the loose hanging chain may get caught on something. Remember to regularly check the stitching, especially if your dog likes a good scratch.


Our Harris Tweed & Leather Collars and Leads need a little more care. To keep your collar and lead clean, wash the Harris Tweed section as required with mild detergent and allow collar to air dry. Try to avoid getting the leather wet, but if it does become wet, allow to air dry and then feed the leather with either leather balm, saddle soap or other leather product. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Check the stitching and security of the buckle and trigger snap regularly.

Our Harris Tweed leads will need an occasional wash to remove dirt. Choose a mild detergent suitable for wool, then allow to air dry in a warm place. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Check the stitching and integrity of the trigger snap hook regularly.

Our Harris Tweed Dog Bows will need an occasional wash to remove dirt. Choose a mild detergent suitable for wool, then allow to air dry in a warm place. If bow is reluctant to sit nicely after washing, simply give it a gentle press with a warm iron taking care to avoid the elastic at the rear. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Our Harris Tweed Hair Scrunchies will need an occasional wash to remove dirt, hairspray, hair gel etc. Choose a mild detergent suitable for wool, then allow to air dry in a warm place. Do not iron as this may melt the elastic inside. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
